Southeast Tissue Alliances research program encompass a wide array of services including:
Southeast Tissue Alliance has been rooted in research since its founding in 1982 as the University of Florida Department of Orthopaedics Bone Bank. Its purpose then was to conduct and support research into transplant as a part of a grant by the National Institute of Health (NIH). Today Southeast Tissue Alliance is able to offer the option of donation to many individuals for research that otherwise would not have qualified for transplant. Our research affiliations have grown to include many highly regarded research institutions. Recovery staff are experienced and proficient in the recovery of an increasingly wide range of tissues and research organs. In addition, tissues and research organs can be preserved according to the specific requirements and protocols of the researcher. Southeast Tissue Alliance also includes client representation and business development activities. Our current objective is to maximizing the gift of donation by expanding and diversifying recovery services to include as many end-users of donor tissue as possible. This would include tissues for both transplant, research and education. We seek to provide high quality, medically acceptable tissue for transplant, while supplying suitable tissues for researchers and research institutions that accurately matches their criteria and requirements. Contact the Research Department for more information regarding your tissue service needs and applications.
