How You Can Share with Others
the Importance of Organ & Tissue Donation
Speaker's
Bureau
Southeast Tissue Alliance receives many requests to speak to various
groups about organ and tissue donation. Each area has a Speaker's Bureau
composed of volunteers who enjoy speaking to groups and sharing information
about organ and tissue donation. The Speaker's Bureau provides volunteers
to speak to various adult groups including civic and service organizations,
religious, minority and cultural groups, professional groups, or other
businesses.
Like speaking to adult groups? Then this volunteer position is for
YOU!
Schools and Youth Awareness
Southeast Tissue Alliance has begun educating our youth on the importance
of organ and tissue donation. High school students are asked if they
want to be a donor upon attaining their driver's license. Helping them
make an informed decision on this topic is one of our roles. Curriculums
are being developed for younger students to teach them about organ and
tissue donation.
If you enjoy working with youth, then this volunteer position is
for YOU!
Events
Events are a visible way for reaching a large group of people to promote
organ and tissue donation. Some events are nationally sponsored, such
as Saturn Donor Day each February, and National Organ and Tissue Donor
Awareness Week (NOTDAW) each April. Each of Southeast Tissue Alliance's
areas also support various health fairs, cultural art festivals, church
bazaars, Chamber of Commerce events, university campaigns and many more.
The key to public outreach is to spread the message to the masses. Even
if you touch the life of one individual - you have made a difference.
If you like to organize and facilitate events, then this volunteer
position is for YOU!
