The
Share Program
Empowering
the Community to Share the Positive Message of Organ and Tissue Donation
Volunteers
are Important!
Volunteers are a vital part of Southeast Tissue Alliance in its efforts
to raise awareness of organ and tissue donation. The need for volunteers
has increased greatly in this fast-growing medical field. The need for
organ and tissue donations far exceeds the availability. More than 93,000
individuals are in need of organ transplants and an average of 18 people
die each day from the lack of available organs for transplant.
Share the Message of Donation
The key to donation is knowledge and education, and the Share Program
is designed to spread the positive message of organ and tissue donation
throughout the Southeast United States. Even when people are aware of
the need for organ and tissue donation, they may not fully understand
how their wish to be a donor can be fulfilled.
Make a Difference in the Lives of Others
Education
and awareness will help increase donation, and volunteers are vitally
important to help spread the message. Volunteers who are recipients
or donor family members can bring their personal messages to the public.
Other volunteers are individuals who are passionate about organ and
tissue donation, and understand the need to educate the public in this
area. Share Program volunteers are individuals who selflessly give of
themselves to make a difference in the lives of others.
